I was the same Sold, also had to make do with Winfield Boots Red Studs (From Woolworths) with FOUR stripes instead of the genuine Adidas Beckenbauers. That was until i could get myself a poxy free paper round and buy the boots i wanted at about 11

Loved the one they used in the 78 World Cup football... everyone at school tried to get one of those.... I had a plastic thing that if the wind would blow you'd never catch it up... :-(

S'pose you'd like to see lace-up leather footballs used as well?

Three stands were replaced.....hardly an extension, more of a rebuild.....hence my dislike of it, East Stand will effectively be the end of it not the rest when it's knocked down.

I used to end up everywhere Side... had cuts and bruises and all sorts I think Bill G must of got fed up the amount of times I ended up on his back... UP was still home then... it just had an added bit shit extension...

Re: Bonzo has his say on the OS
You didn't take part in surges anymore though did you NS, you just stood in your designated spot, unless we scored a goal then shuffled off back to your spot again.

If you enjoy that change then well done for you.

No it wasn't... I never stood down so no fucking difference

Russ,

In the stands, mate? Never. As infuriating as West Ham can be on the pitch, we've always made our presence felt in the stands. Always.

Good post mate.

But I cannot accept your last point. You don't expect to be humiliated by Watford???

This is West Ham mate.

Re: Bonzo has his say on the OS
Parkesy & Bonzo come from the era of football I most love about West Ham and were traditional real men and characters, ask them about diving, sliding tackles, protection of keepers, what sky has done to football etc and you will get the same distain. I share all of that and like them could do nothing about the changes.

West Ham was fucked the day they knocked down the terraces and put in plastic seated stands.I still like to think or hope that the support will manage to maintain some sort of madness from those great times, like they did to an extent at the Lego version of UP.

Re: Bonzo has his say on the OS
Phil Parkes still sports the same haircut and moustache from fucking 30-odd years ago.

Just one look at the bloke and you know he's a DRUID (the old school mob - not the fake tan, pedicure and HOTPANTS brigade).

It's no surprise that he's against the move when he's stuck in a 1980s time-warp.

Still, thank you very much for your contribution to the club in your playing days, Parksey son.

Ask two blokes who rarely moved even in their own careers how they feel about moving....

Re: Bonzo has his say on the OS
Well history did begin on the first day of this season so no former player ever would be invited to be paraded on the pitch or anything.

East Ham Bull 8:52 Wed Sep 21
Re: Bonzo has his say on the OS
Phil Parkes won't be turning up at the OS. He's been kicked into touch with all the other former players.
